Stayed at this lovely guesthouse in Shillong and absolutely loved it! It’s surrounded by lush greenery right in the middle of the city — feels like a peaceful escape from the chaos. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, and waking up to birds chirping was just perfect. The restaurant had a cozy, beach-shack vibe that added to the charm. The host was incredibly friendly and made us feel completely at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a calm, nature-filled stay in Shillong.

I had a fantastic stay of 7 nights at The La Monte Inn in Oct’2024, managed very ably by Jeremy and his super kind and efficient team! The property itself is located very centrally near the Laitmukrah area, which is walkable in 10 minutes. It gives easy access to many of the key landmarks in the area and is an amazing neighbourhood for some lovely walks. The property is a lovely old house which has been renovated to a very high level by Jeremy. The large and spacious rooms and bathrooms are complemented by the tasteful aesthetics. I stayed in one of the rooms on the first floor and had a wonderful view of the property and the lovely trees surrounding it. The staff is ably led by Dolly and her team including Embok and Fila are super warm and helpful. They were available immediately to take care of any requests and prepared some really tasty breakfasts during my stay there. Finally, Jeremy and his missus are very warm and generous people and they have done a great job of turning their house into a fantastic homestay, which beats all the local hotels for service and facilities. Highly recommended for a stay in Shillong!!

I stayed there for a night with my cousins and trust me it is the most cleanest, friendly and welcoming guest house I have ever come across. The lady dolly was very sweet and was ever ready to help with small things. The owner was sweet enough to call and find out about the stay. Over all excellent stay with homely touch.
