Old building with upgrades
I was in town for a week and a close Friend recommended the Andaluz. Parking was a trip, valet for $19/night, with few attendants available when I was coming and going, 7am out and 8 or 9pm back. I arrived on a sunday night and much of the streets were closed for cars crusing downtown. Parked next door in the creepy parking garage, with a security guard and one other car that had “stolen” written in dirt on the windshield along with no license plates. This was a rental BMW 530i which was great as the speed limit on the big highways was 75mph! (Aka most folks were going 100). - back to the hotel - I had a room on the 3rd floor, right next to the elevator, and I could hear it each time the elevator moved to another floor. Time for a nice bath- oops ADA room that was shower only. No biggie, BUT the water pressure was super low, like a garden watering can.. I went to the lobby and asked to move rooms.. Sorry we are booked solid. I doubt that as I didn’t see many folks around the hotel or even on my floor. Well turns out Housekeeping was gone and the REAL reason they couldn’t move me is the could not clean my room in the time they needed. The next morning they switched me to a quiet room at the end of the hall with a king bed instead of queen, and gave me a resturant credit, so it worked out. The night staff has very little power to make any big changes, and the day folks arrive at 7am, yes that’s when I had to leave each morning… it worked out..
