Fun facts about the other side of the world

What are Antipodes?

Antipodes are points on opposite sides of the Earth. If you drew a straight line from one point through the center of the Earth, you'd reach its antipode.

Earth's Size

The Earth's diameter at the equator is about 12,756 km (7,926 miles), but the distance through the center is slightly less due to Earth being slightly flattened at the poles.

Mostly Ocean

About 71% of Earth's surface is water, so most antipodal points land in ocean. Only about 4% of land has another landmass as its antipode.
