Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade

This hotel sits right in the middle of the posh shopping area of Lisbon. It is clean, and the people are friendly. The concierge was very pleasant in accepting my request to drop my postcard in the mail (I always send postcards to my friends and myself whenever I travel). However, since my husband and I are not "shoppers", we would prefer to stay in the more historical place, which is about 30 mins walk from this hotel --- which is actually not bad at all, as the weather was quite cool.

First of all, in Portugal, people were friendly wherever we went. This hotel was no exception. The location was also great, so I felt safe even coming in a bit late. I stayed at Sofitel in four different countries, and this hotel looked the oldest. Nevertheless, it was clean. However, it took a bit longer to resolve requests when I asked for something. Although it took time, fortunately, they always took care of it. During my stay, I usually just requested bathroom cleaning and didn't ask for the bedroom to be cleaned, but I confirmed this over the phone twice, and in the end, they cleaned the room every day. Since I stayed for five nights, I wanted to adjust the placement of my belongings a bit more comfortably during my stay, but because they cleaned every day, the positioning of my items was reset each time, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, though, I was very satisfied and it’s a hotel I would like to visit again. It’s a hotel that helped me create good memories of Portugal. Thank you.
