Everything You Need for Your Visit
Going to a show? Fifth Avenue shopping? Like Rockefeller Center or St. Patrick's Cathedral? This is a great location for all of those, plus Times Square, Bryant Park, and the subway is a short walk. The facilities are new, clean and fresh, great night's sleep and good water pressure. Best of all, the staff was friendly and helpful....recyclable bottles and hydration stations on each floor. We'll definitely stay there next time we are in town.
Prlerfcrt location for a lot of things and honestly staff was just so friendly. We will be back
Our stay was great, from check in to check out. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Room was very clean, spacious enough and remodeled. Maybe a real expresso machine instead of the coffee maker in the room would be nice :)
Great hotel at the right rate
We found a deal on Agoda that was significantly cheaper than booking direct. Although skeptical that the booking was going to be valid the reservation was seamless. The hotel is close to Times Square just a few minutes walk and located down a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle. The lobby is absolutely beautiful and we found all dealings with the staff pleasant, they were friendly and helpful. Although the hotel room is dated (looked the same as when I stayed there 20 years ago) it has been impeccably maintained and made for a comfortable stay, so I wouldn’t be to concerned about comments that the rooms are dated. The bed is showing its age and although I slept well it would be great to see the hotel invest in them to get them up to scratch with other Sofitels I have stayed in. Strangely the fridge in the room was broken which appears to be common in this hotel after reading other reviews. Not really up to standard for a hotel of this level especially being in a one bedroom suite that can cost thousands to stay in and also missing was a kettle or coffee machine which was unusual, I can’t remember the last place I stayed that didn’t provide this. Overall due to the rate I managed to get I found value in my stay, if I paid the hotel rate I might have preferred another hotel. If you are looking for a hotel close to Times Square but in a quiet area I would recommend staying here. Lastly although I’m aware of ‘destination fees’ in NYC hotels there was no mention of this on checking in and what benefits I could obtain, so I found absolutely no benefit to this during my stay.
