Auberge Saint-Antoine

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome! The staff greeting us as we got out of the taxi to the front desk and everyone in between, including the concierge during out entire stay-just amazing! One could tell that the rooms are designed for maximum guest comfort with so many positiive highlights: huge bathtub, heated bathroom floor, space to put away clothes separate from the sleeping area, turn down service and treats. Comfortable beds, pillows, an extra seating area. A huge Kudo to the design team for including in each room, in the halls and throughout the hotel, some of the relics found in the area. It gave us historical understanding and appreciation for all that went into the planning of this hotel. The location is outstanding for old Quebec City. One can walk so easily to see everything. An unexpected gift to us was that the hotel will loan a car to guests. We were able to see the falls and Ile dʻOrleans one morning, thanks to their generosity. Make sure to stop at the concierge, we also learned that they have tickets to museums and other places there. We even got cookies to eat at our departure. Truly, we highly recommend this beautiful hotel which represented all the best of what a place can be! Merci beaucoup to all and aloha.

Every aspect of the stay, especially ALL the staff, the rich history of the hotel and how it was displayed, the incredible breakfasts, bar/food and desserts. On our last night, the complimentary cake pieces for 2 of our birthdays was so celebratory. Given some of the recent politics between the 2 countries, we were a bit anxious about how Canadians would receive folks from the US. They could not have been more welcoming! I also paid for my daughter, son-in-law, and 2 grandchildren ‘s room through booking. com. After closer consideration, they realized they did not want the breakfast included option due to limited menus for severe peanuts allergies and also veganism. I tried for over a month to reach booking.com to cancel and could not. At the hotel I tried again. The hotel staff understood our request and were supportive but they could not do the canceling. We were on the phone totaling over 2 hours of our precious vacation time and finally reached a real person and were told they couldn’t do it due to our stay having begun. Finally we were promised that they would contact the hotel manager the next day and they never did. It became clear to us that booking.com had no intention of making this easy for us so we gave up the effort. The family did the breakfast option but were unable to truly take advantage of it in any way that came close to what we paid. This was NOT the fault of the hotel. My other daughter who worked at a Hilton in VT for 2 years warned us that booking.com would give us the runaround until we gave up.

This is our second time at Auberge St Antoine. There are many reasons we returned to this hotel. The staff are incredible from the moment you stop at valet, through the check in process with the pleasant, polite and efficient desk staff. It continues for your entire stay with the smiles, the exchange of pleasantries and room presentation and cleanliness second to none. Alex maintained our room and it was immaculate. Our breakfast was perfect, the staff were so helpful and the design, originality of the restaurant setting and decor has you imagining the buildings historic past. The blend of stone, wood and old world charm along side the modern convenience you crave are seamless and beautifully done. While not visiting the on site lounge this time around its setting and service is in keeping with the hotels high standards. The location is only steps from the heart of the vibrant city and waterfront. After visiting several years ago my wife said that's the only hotel I want to stay at when we return to Quebec City and I can completely agree. The Christmas Village Markets with light snow falling made our weekend into a virtual Hallmark movie and the perfect backdrop to a birthday getaway.
