Auberge Place d'Armes

I had a wonderful stay here. The room was warmly decorated, with exposed wood beams adding charm. The room and bathroom have been updated. (The separate restaurant at the bottom of the hotel is terrific. The food and drinks were excellent and the staff really nice.) Best was the location. One note: the rooms at the very top require a bit of climbing.

The geographical location is very advantageous, the service attitude is good, it is clean and sanitary, a good choice.

I'm not sure that the payment programs with booking.com are helpful. I was charged in full about 6 weeks ahead of my stay -- even though it says it will not be charged until you stay. I'd requested a new credit card (upgraded for international travel rewards, and services)...and advised the gal at check-in that I'd received a new Credit Card -- which needed to be updated. She looked at the balance and advised me that it was ZERO. We ordered the overnight parking. Booking.com is bothering me about updating my credit card or losing my account. I don't know whom to reach out to - other than the hotel. I am not giving my credit card to Booking.com - but only each hotel directly. Perhaps this is just Booking.com's issue and not your hotel. I'm not sure. But it may be helpful to know/understand. Your hotel staff were wonderful and seemed very knowledgeable. We couldn't get our Expresso Machine to work, and the Heat/Air thermostats were confusing. It'd be nice to be able to open the windows for fresh air - when not raining, if screens were on the windows. However, that may be a safety issue for the hotel. Otherwise a VERY lovely hotel and so sweet to see the super mix of furnishings -- updated. I Loved the trained staff, comfortable quiet rooms so elegantly decorated to feel historic but new. Thanks for a super special overnight experience. WE loved it.
