Exceptional
Our family recently stayed at the Riverdale Xintiandi Shanghai for a week, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.
Firstly, the cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable. From the lobby to the rooms, every corner of the hotel was spotless and well-maintained. There were 2 robots stationed near the receptions. Turns out they were for delivering guests' food delivery order items. Superb.
Speaking of the staff, they were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The staffs at reception were fluent in English, making it easy for us to communicate. They were always ready to assist with any questions or needs we had. I was impressed when I requested the reception to book us a taxi to Pudong Airport the night before our flight back to Indonesia. Sure enough, the taxi was already standing by at 6:30am, as per our request. The reception guy with glasses (sorry I forgot to ask for his name) even booked us a larger taxi to accomodate us and the luggages.
The room itself was very comfortable and well-appointed. The bed was cozy, the linens were fresh, and the amenities provided were top-notch. After few long days of exploring Shanghai, it was wonderful to return to such a relaxing and inviting space. The room was cleaned daily and bathroom amenities were restocked daily too. As a mother, I was impressed to see a washing machine and dryer in the kitchen area. There were microwave, cooking stove, fridge and appliances provided too.
Facilities wise, I tried the gym once. The equipments were in a clean and pristine conditions. However, a swimming pool in the building would be nice. If I may suggest, please add more international channels on TV and provide faster wifi connections in the room. Oddly, Cinemax channel in our room was not audible while the other chinese channels were clear.
The apartment was about 10 minutes walking to Daishijie Subway (exit 3). Shanghai's train system is very convenient and provides easy means of transport all over Shanghai. We went to Railway station to take high speed train to Suzhou and Hangzhou. Lovely cities. There were lots of food to try within walking distances too. It was approximately 25 mins walking to Yu Yuan Garden (and food bazaar in front) and around the same travel time to Nanjing Road (many interesting cuisines and things to shop).
Overall, two thumbs up to Riverdale Xintiandi Shanghai. It's the perfect place to stay for anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, and exceptional service. We will definitely be returning to Riverdale should we visit Shanghai again!
