Hotel Palace Royal

This grand hotel, though past its prime, provided a very comfortable one-week stay. The pictures are true to life. My accommodation was essentially a spacious suite with a separate living area, a huge bathroom, an entry hall, and a handy kitchenette (fridge, microwave, coffee maker with unlimited free coffee). Everything was clean, the mattress was comfortable, and the towels were fresh. I particularly appreciated the four large windows (and another in the bathroom), which offered lovely views. The blackout shades, hidden behind drapes, worked perfectly. Other significant positives are the excellent soundproofing and the outstanding, accommodating staff who helped when my flight was delayed. The location is unbeatable—right in the center, allowing for daily walks through the beautiful old town. All in all, a great place to stay.
