CASTLE ROCK

This is a hidden gem. Price was great for the area. Staff (Alfonso) was extremely friendly, warm, and welcoming. The property was very quiet. The room was fantastic. Everything was redone. New carpet, countertops, shower, A/C. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the sheets were amazing (seriously). Water pressure was good and water was nice and hot. The towels were thick, soft, and fluffy. The A/C worked great and fast, and there was a large screen TV on the wall (big for the room). Everything was extremely clean in the room too. I can't say enough how impressed I was with this little place. Was it the ritz... no, but for the money and customer service, I can't recommend this motel enough!! I don't like saying anything negative about Castle Rock because you can really see the effort put into the rooms and the comfort. If I had to say anything, I'd say the outside needs a facelift. The inside is fantastic, but you don't get that from the street view. There are attempts to make it inviting and you can tell that the owners are really trying to make it nice (as evidenced by the rooms), but the outside looks old and run-down, which would turn off customers that don't see the online reviews (and trust what they say). As nice of a stay as we had here, it really pains me to say anything negative.

For a motel, the room was large. It was extremely clean with carpeting in excellent condition. It felt more like a living room, not a motel room. It has been the only motel where I have said "I think I should take my shoes off before entering!" In fact, I saw other people doing just that. We were tucked into a corner of the building, so it was quiet. I'd have no hesitation about staying there again. The hosts were friendly. No breakfast, if that matters to others, but I have no complaints.

The hosts are amazing and super accommodating. I needed a late check in after normal operating hours and they made sure I was taken care of. THE SHEETS! Everything you've been reading is true. They are the best hotel sheets I've ever experienced. As a female traveling solo, I will say I wish there was a deadbolt on the door to make you feel more secure. I also wish the heater wasn't directly above the bed as it dried out my sinuses. But for the price, the level of service, and the quality of the bed... this hotel in the heart of Flagstaff (lots within walking distance) can't be beat.
