The Fairmont Royal York

The Fairmont York in Toronto was such a memorable stay. From the moment we arrived, Christmas was truly in the air—the grand lobby was beautifully decorated with towering trees, twinkling lights, and elegant holiday displays that made the whole hotel feel warm and magical. The atmosphere was festive yet classic, perfectly matching the hotel’s historic charm. The rooms were comfortable and inviting, offering a cozy retreat from the winter chill, and the staff added to the experience with their welcoming and attentive service. Being right in the heart of the city made it even more special, as we could step outside and immediately enjoy Toronto’s holiday energy. Altogether, it was a stay that felt both luxurious and joyful, and one we’ll always remember fondly.

We enjoy staying at the Royal York and this time we managed to find a great deal through Agoda. The only downside was that there was an extra charge to stay in a renovated room (I remember staying in a non-renovated room years ago and being a bit disappointed). However, it still worked out to an excellent price. The room was modern, very clean and well maintained. The only suggestion would be to have more USB ports throughout the room, as there were few. The service is always courteous and friendly, though I think for a special occasion as this was (we were celebrating an 'early' Valentines as we could not find childcare for the 'real' day) there could be some kind of 'special' adjustment, such as a bottle or wine or something. I would only expect this of a 4+ star hotel, like this one. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the room, which was very comfortable. We didn't dine there (maybe next time), but we did have a late night drink in the Library Bar, which was gorgeous and which had a fantastic ambience. The server was excellent as well; the only thing that that for the price (24-48$) the cocktails were VERY small. Yes they were of high quality, but I feel that could have been a little more substantial, sizewise. Overall, we'd recommend the hotel, and would stay again. Thanks!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto - I was lucky to get a very good last-minute deal on the Agoda website. The hotel was spotless and well maintained overall. Service was also excellent - as it was our anniversary, the wonderful front desk clerk gave us a room upgrade and a nice bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries. This was a nice and unexpected surprise. The room, though smallish, was mostly well appointed (I could have used more usb power ports, though) and very clean. If I was to wish for anything else from this 5-star rated hotel, it would have been a harder bed mattress, though this is personal preference. Unfortunately, we didn't have a lot of time there, and so couldn't take advantage of all the facilities (health club, spa, dining options). Next time we will - we enjoyed our stay and would go back!
