E dey about 15 min waka from Fortitude Valley, di town area for Brisbane. E dey also about 3 min from di "Central" train station. 2) Di staff, like all Australians, dem very friendly. 3) Di pods demself clean well. Bed sheets clean, pillow cases, walls dem clean out. Di showers don renovate an dem very good. Dis na hostel, so plenty people dey use am all di day. For di basement floor, mi tink di showers dey work well. Dem get maintenance staff to fix tings if lightbulb no dey work. 4) Di counter dey open 24/7. One staff dey watch who dey enter di hostel after 10pm. You need card key to enter. Abeg remember your room. 5) Dem get lockers for di basement. You need your own padlock. Mi recommend say you bring one from your home country. You fit lock your belongings. But, mi no tink say anybody go steal your stuff if you leave am for di bedrooms - di room wey mi stay get 8 pods inside. At first, e be like 10 or so. 6) Make we talk about one situation. For L2G, di basement, if you get dat room for August 2025 or 2025, you suppose request for room change. One guy (older, tattooed, big man) dey snore loud. Mi reach di hostel around 3pm an he don dey snore since den, even 5pm, an later for 10pm, all di way to 8am when he wake up for di free breakfast. Mi request room change for 5pm dat day an di staff dey nice enough to tell mi to check out for 11am di next day an dem go give mi new BETTER room. E be tough night because he dey snore all night. He be long term stay guy. Mi no tink say anybody fit survive dat. 7) Di next day, dem give mi new room. Di people for dat room na Chinese/Korean, an one nice French woman wey sabi plenty French. Dem tell her to quiet down for 10pm when lights dey off an people dey encouraged to stay quiet for everybody. Room 201 dey very nice. Di set up modern. Room L2G don old an get more long term stay people dey there. Request change if you dey dat room, IMO. 8) You fit charge your stuff before di pods. You NEED Australia converter plug. Buy am from AliExpress before you come because e go cost more for Australia. Mi also change cash for my home country because di rates better pass airports an stores. 9) Breakfast dey 8am sharp to 10am. Great stuff. Dem get corn flakes, muesli, all kinds of store-bought milk, orange juice/apple juice, toast wey you fit make, all di spread, di yogurt dey for one big bowl an e dey delicious, along with some cut mango fruit wey you fit put on top. You fit get utensils an cups/dishes. E dey required to wash your own dishes for di sinks after, an to dry dem or you go pay fine. Everybody dey friendly. You fit chop for plenty places - for couch area, outside tables, or di lower level wey get workout area an plenty couches. Mi enjoy di vegemite toast, yogurt, juices, an cereal. Dem all high-quality store-bought food, so e dey good way to fill yourself up for di morning. For di last day, mi bring food from one cafe - like meat pie wey be Australian specialty. 10) Showers an restroom. Dem dey shared. Mi get my shoes for di room. Mi recommend say you bring sandals too. Mi tink di staff dey provide dem. Abeg bring your own toothbrush/toothpaste. If you no bring, you fit pay small 7 dollar fee. Dem dey offer washing machines/dryers for 7 dollars, an 6 dollars to dry. E get touch screen. Free iron. Di shared living room/kitchen area dey open for 6am, so you fit get access to milk, dining area an plates/etc. E dey close for 10pm. If you wan use your laptop or chop somewhere, dey get small table beside di locker area. Some "Fire prevention" doors need to dey closed at all times for di middle of di night. 11) Dem get plenty young backpackers. Mi talk to one French guy, British guy. Dem don even.

Mi gots to talk say as mi waka out di door after mi stay, mi feeling be complete satisfaction, like 10/10. After mi stay here for di third time over di last few years, e dey really great to still feel so good about di place. Di first time, mi dey wowed by di decor an layout - from swimming pool to gym - an none of dat don diminish. Di impression wey mi carry come away dis time na how exceptionally well run dis place be. Mi dey little alarm at first as dem don change di rules an make am a little stricter for di year since mi don dey there. While a 10pm curfew for a place wey mostly dey frequented by travellers for dem 20's seem little quaint an e dey enforced more firmly now, mi no fit deny say dat element of discipline dey help keep di place well run. BQ never be 'party hostel' thank God, an di kind of travellers wey dey stay there all dey tend to be well raised an respectful, so mi no sabi if e go result in anarchy if di rules dey eased a little but in di end, if dis na di small price to pay for having a well run an very comfortable an pleasant 'flashpackers', den mi prefer dat. Di kitchen an dining areas dey like train station for di morning an e be testament to di first rate management of BQ say di staff fit run di very kind complimentary breakfast session smoothly. Staff dey generally friendly an only too helpful. Di way you rate a place dey similar to a movie for mi opinion, ultimately mi rate am on emotional effect an even though dey dey few small niggles - di blocked right hand sink for di men's bathroom on di first floor still dey blocked after one year haha, di left hand shower only dey put out lukewarm water, my mattress for pod #1 for di 18 bed pod room dey sunken for di middle an fit maybe do with replacing an di paintwork on di hand rail up to my pod don chip off, none of dis tings dey enough to detract from my feeling of complete satisfaction as mi left at di end of my stay. Di positives greatly outweigh dis minor negatives an di overall experience dey nevertheless completely comfortable an pleasant. Mi nearly stay for one hotel nearby wey dey more expensive than dis but in di end, mi decide say being around plenty people dey more appealing than di relative isolation of one hotel room as one single traveller. After plenty experience of dis, mi feel say such privacy fit = loneliness an di feeling of community wey you get for one place like BQ dey more valuable. Di decor an facilities dey so comfortable, no get your own room no matter an di pod room dey really nice, quiet an comfortable. Mi stay for my own room at Coolangatta YHA before here an at both places, as always, e dey such a pleasure to hear di accents of an mingle with German, French, Spanish, British, Irish, Slavic, Japanese, Chinese an fellow Australian people among others. Mi don get some great experiences over di years at hostels an such getting to meet an sabi people from all around di world an dis experience na joy wey you no fit really get at hotels an one wey you no fit put price on.
