Fantastic as usual
Our 5 or 6th time, the perfect finisher to our Bali trip, close to the airport.
The fact that you have access to the facilities in all Rimba, Segara, Ayana makes it perfect, so many pools to choose from plus beach access. The hotel is kept immaculate, very clean. I'm still surprised with the size of the beds in Rimba ( 2.4m length )
The views are amazing, you are up on the cliff looking across the water, sunsets are great. Shuttles every 10 minutes taking you from one side to the other.
Staff is very friendly and helpful like majority of Bali, we always stay 1-2 days at the end of our trip and this is the kind of place where you don't leave the resort, there are plenty to do.
The only one thing that even others have mentioned are the food prices which can be on the higher side for Bali for sure, at certain restaurants you find a 10$ coke can so pff that's a no. Otherwise the breakfast is great, we always stayed at Rimba but had breakfast in Ayana as i find it nicer, and you have plenty of options.
So even if i have to eat less, i will always stay at Rimba whenever i am in Bali, by this point is tradition and everyone to whom i recommended it was very pleased.
Family room for 2-3 people
First of all, my impression is that the bed was too comfortable. I reserved a family room for five people, but the connecting door with the two-person room was locked. Each room has its own bathroom and toilet. The toilet does not have a lock, and it is frosted glass, so you can slightly see the silhouette and feet. The bed is quite high, making it unsuitable for simply sitting down. The bathroom has one shower on the wall (reachable) and one on the ceiling. The bathtub is spacious, and there are bath gel and bath salt available, but the water temperature is low, so it feels like it cools down quickly even when full. Reheating the water is not possible. I took a shower while adding warm water. Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are provided. The quality is decent. It was a bit inconvenient that there was no dresser to sit and do my makeup. There is a walk-in closet next to the toilet, and there are loungewear pajamas available. Across from it is a full-length mirror, so I sat on the floor in front of it to do my makeup.
The refrigerator is on the smaller side. There are bottles of water available for each person, and it can be replenished for free. Ice can be ordered through room service (also free). There were complimentary one can each of beer, cola, Sprite, and Aquarius in the refrigerator. After that, a beer costs around 1500 yen, so I recommend bringing your own. There is an espresso machine for coffee as well as a kettle. Basic amenities like toothbrushes are provided, but it made me realize the high quality of Japanese hotels, and honestly, I wonder if this is the limit even at Ayana. I used a converter I bought at a 100 yen store for the outlet. I used my own hairdryer, but it shorted out due to voltage overload, so be cautious when using it.
I’ve written a lot of details, but overall it was a comfortable room that makes all those small issues negligible. The balcony is spacious and allows smoking. The eaves are long, providing shade from the sun. There was a fruit service in the room. The bed was made twice, once in the afternoon and once in the evening. The TV had NHK, so I could watch the New Year’s Eve special. Since there is a one-hour time difference, it was already 23:00 during the countdown... Raising the screen in front of the bath connects to a balcony with a beautiful view, making for a refreshing and great sight.
I stayed with a breakfast plan and had meals with Tuge (photo of orange juice) and Padi (milk), both of which were delicious. Personally, I recommend Tuge. Kubu Beach, the private beach, is a bit far but worth a visit. The waves are high, so it was fun to surf. Just be prepared to get sandy! The sunset at Rock Bar was also amazing. I had a table reserved, but since I couldn’t see the sunset well, I changed it to the counter. The waves crashing in front of me were visible, and it was a perfect photo spot. I ordered tapas like potato fries, but they’re really just light snacks, so I think dinner is necessary separately. For dinner, I recommend Kampong Bali. You can watch a kecak dance, and the buffet food was delicious, although generally, it is quite spicy. I also had dinner at Karang, but there were many dishes unfamiliar to Japanese tastes, and I left quite a bit.
If you go to Liverpool around 7:30, you can take photos smoothly. The shooting time is one minute per person, but if it’s not crowded, you can take multiple shots. Personally, the ocean beach pool next to the Rock Bar is also spectacular and recommended. You can use the Rock Bar's elevator for both trips. I wrote down whatever came to mind, but in conclusion, all the staff at Ayana were amazing. They managed to understand my broken English and provided the best hospitality. I definitely want to stay at this hotel again.
