Ita a muy comfota hotel.
Mwe stayed for three nights on a family trip. To summarize, choosing Miramar Garden was definitely the right choice! Ita a muy satisfying stay.
The hotel is located about a 10-minute walk from both MRT stations, Zhongxiao Xinsheng and Zhongxiao Fuxing, but we mainly used the Zhongxiao Xinsheng station. While many reviews mention that being far from the station is a downside, we didn’t feel it was too distant since we could cut through the National Taiwan University campus to get there. We enjoyed walking through the calm university grounds, feeling like students.
The area where the hotel is located may not be featured in typical guidebooks, but it is a very worthwhile area to explore, with the nearby Liaoning Night Market offering high-quality dining options and many good restaurants.
Since Taipei itself is not a very large city, if you're going to a farther location without using the MRT, I think it's a good idea to choose to take a taxi directly from the hotel from the beginning. Taxi fares are inexpensive, and in terms of saving time and cost-effectiveness, it's extremely convenient. If you get a taxi from the hotel, the doorman is very courteous and will communicate your destination to the driver, which is reassuring.
Now, having mentioned that there are options for getting around depending on individual circumstances, here are my impressions of the hotel itself. We stayed in a triple room with three beds. I had expected the building to be of a certain standard, so I didn't have any particularly negative impressions. The room was always clean, and during our stay, a hotel staff member came to check if the room had been properly cleaned. (Of course, it was cleaned thoroughly.) We also enjoyed snacks and drinks from the minibar. There are water dispensers on each floor, allowing you to fill up your own bottles or larger containers in your room with water, hot water, or sparkling water. We filled our empty plastic bottles with water before going out.
Next to the front lobby, there's a small café where you can buy cakes and Starbucks coffee. The standard coffee size is similar to a tall size in Japan, and there's a slight discount for guests, making it more economical than in Japan. Every time we returned to the hotel, I would bring coffee bought from there to my room.
Additionally, the bed in our hotel and the two large pillows were extremely comfortable. It might be the most enjoyable bed I've slept in during my travels. While the suitability of the bed and pillows depends on one’s body type, and this is a personal feeling, my family also remarked that they were comfortable.
Due to environmental regulations starting in 2025, amenities such as combs and toothbrushes are not provided in hotel rooms in Taiwan. You can request anything you need at the front desk, so there's no need to worry. By the way, we brought our usual items. Body soap and shampoo are provided in dispensers on the bathroom wall. If you need hair conditioner, be sure to bring your own. A bath sponge for lathering body soap is also convenient.
In Taipei, whether using taxis or the MRT, you walk a lot daily, so having a bathtub or a large public bath on the upper floors was really appreciated for relieving fatigue. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to use the pool, but next time, I hope to enjoy both the pool and the gym.
Regarding meals, we only had breakfast on the last day and enjoyed Taiwanese breakfast and dishes like noodles and rice at nearby eateries in Taipei. We were particularly into eating out for breakfast, but the hotel breakfast was also delicious, offering plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Near the hotel, next to a 7-Eleven, there are several dining halls frequented by university students, all of which were inexpensive and tasty. My family particularly loved the Dan Dan noodles there. The staff at the shops were also friendly. However, please note that they close on weekends when the university is off. Many breakfast places in the city are also often closed on Saturdays, so it’s best to check in advance.
Others have shared various impressions, so I think it would be good for each person to use them as reference.
I usually don’t write reviews, but I wanted to express my gratitude for the warm treatment we received from the doorman, front desk staff, room attendants, and the entire staff at Miramar Garden, as well as their efforts in maintaining the hotel's comfort. The people of Taipei and the food were truly wonderful. I plan to stay at this hotel again on our next trip. Thank you very much!
Miil ea geel ko Miramar Hotel
Ita a beautiful hotel with endless amenities. The room had all you needed, the room wasn't glamorous but they were comfortable and the bathroom is really nice. The buffet breakfast is a must! So much food and drinks available and it's delicious. The staff are lovely and were very helpful with a few of my requests. There is also a laundry service, pool, sauna and gym for you to use which makes your stay very relaxing and you can cool off in the heat. The location is also great and walking around and catching transport was very easy. They also have a very efficient luggage service where you can store your bags before or after check-out so you explore. For all that the stay comes with, I would highly recommend the Miramar Garden Hotel!

Pros:
- Was able to store luggage 4 days in advance whilst we travelled outside the city
- Really large room size by Taipei standards (Deluxe Double Room 42 m²)
- Bed was huge and comfortable
- Decent air-conditioning
- Clean
- Free drinking water dispensers in the hallway for unlimited drinking water
Cons:
- Definitely not a 5-star hotel; aged and outdated building, nice-enough service but not sure how this rating has been awarded. It’s pretty basic – maybe 3 stars at best.
- Buffet breakfast range was decent enough, but of a pretty low quality and not very tasty. Would have preferred to buy our own breakfast outside the hotel. Juices aren’t fresh, no alternative milks such as oat or soy to make coffee. Had to go to cafes to purchase coffee in the morning instead.
- Central-ish location, about 13mins walk to the nearest MRT station (Zhongxiao Xinsheng). It’s located on a major highway with very little around other than a 7/11 and petrol stations.
