Value for money accommodation.
I used it for about 40,000 won per night. First of all, the accommodation is right next to the Nation station, and there are many bakeries nearby, which was nice. However, there is the downside that you have to take the subway to the center of Paris for about 20-30 minutes from Nation station. Personally, I think it’s okay, considering that if I didn’t book accommodation in the very center of Paris, I would end up spending the same amount on transportation anyway...
The accommodation had a very quiet atmosphere and had curtains. There was a storage cabinet below, but you have to bring your own lock. It was good that a 24-inch suitcase fits comfortably, but it was a bit annoying to lay it down to put it in.
The bathroom is separated by gender and the shower room is inside the bathroom. Usually, warm water comes out well, but sometimes when it rains, warm water doesn’t come out... Also, many of the shower facilities were a bit broken, so there were only one or two decent stalls. There is a hairdryer inside the bathroom, and there was enough space in the shower room to hang clothes or towels.
There is a rooftop café + bar on the 6th floor, and guests of the accommodation can bring their own food and eat there for free. I bought bread from a nearby bakery in the morning and ate a lot there. Also, there was a big supermarket right next door, which was great. The downside is that the rooftop is only open until 10 or 11 o'clock, so after that, there’s no place to eat at the accommodation. The coffee and drinks sold there are quite expensive, so I recommend buying them outside if possible. I went in winter, so I couldn't sit outside much, but I think it would be really nice to sit there when the weather is good. The Eiffel Tower is also visible, albeit small.
Think twice if you're traveler who wants meet others
The 4-bed dormitory room where I stayed was well-maintained, evidently new, with comfortable beds. However, the air conditioning was a major issue, with the fan running at full speed and no way to reduce it. It felt like having a vacuum cleaner next to my ear.
The view of the square was fantastic!
The rooftop restaurant is excellent for breakfast, offering great views of both the square and the Eiffel Tower in the distance.
Overall, the accommodation was pleasant.
My main complaint is that the hostel isn't particularly designed for travelers who want to socialize with others. The only meeting place is the rooftop restaurant, which is set up more like a traditional restaurant. There's no other common space.
Be prepared for additional costs: you have to purchase everything, including a lock for the locker. Towels are not provided either.
I wouldn't say this hostel has the best atmosphere; it's more suitable for people who don't want to socialize much.
In summary, while the facilities are nice, this hostel lacks the social vibe typical of many hostels.
Draw
Perhaps because there are long-term guests, the room felt a bit stuffy and had a smell. There was a hair dryer in the bathroom, but during peak times like the evening, it stops working after one minute. I checked another floor, and it was the same, which was a bit inconvenient. The shower room is small but has several units, so it's not too bad. I also liked that there's a restaurant on the top floor; you can just go there to sit and relax. It's nice to have beer and snacks, but I remember the usage time wasn't very long, so make sure to check that! There are staff available at the check-in counter 24/7, and all the staff were nice. It's only about a 3-minute walk from the subway station, and there's a large supermarket and a small cafe right next door. There's also a plaza in front of the accommodation, along with nearby restaurants and an ATM. It's a good place for a long stay, but it's a bit far from the main tourist attractions. However, because it’s cheap and offers great value for money, it compensates for that. One inconvenient point is that there's no kitchen. You can take food to the restaurant on the top floor to eat, but during dinner time, there are many guests, and there might not be enough seating, making it disappointing since you can't cook.
