Oakwood Premier Melbourne

Stayed here for 2 nights, from the moment you walk through the doors you are greeted with a perfume scented lobby along with friendly staff who will check you in quickly. I had requested 2 beds as I was travelling with my friend and the staff had already organised all of it. I was in the 13th floor which was great although all twin rooms do not face the city it was still a nice view from a high floor. The hotel was clean, luxury amenities such as coffee pod selection, teas, and other beverages. The hotel was also attached to a small supermarket which you could get drinks such as water, coke, etc so it was super convenient. I would definitely stay there again as it was a great place.

We got married and decided we weren’t ready for a big honeymoon yet, so we decided to be tourists in our own city. We chose to stay at Oakwood as it looked modern, clean and the location was perfect. If you want to stay near the Casino or Southbank in general, it’s the ideal spot. Everything is a short walk - with many tram spots nearby. The room was incredible, would have loved a balcony, but the walls mostly being windows gave you that panoramic city skyline. The staff were lovely and professional & upgraded us which was a bonus. Breakfast was to die for - a really good buffet. The convenience store on the ground level was a game changer, it made picking up little bits a pieces easier. These apartments are stocked, if you wanted to make a meal, it would be made easy. We will be back that’s for sure.

We stayed in a twin one bedroom room and were pleasantly surprised to find the room more like a serviced apartment, with full kitchen, dining table and small lounge area, desk, and separate bedroom and separate bathroom. There was a TV in both the lounge room and bedroom, and a combined washer dryer too. It was spacious and exceeded our expectations as we thought it would only be a standard hotel room with two beds and a bathroom. Very clean and lovely views of the city. Buffet breakfast was a great start to the day, simple but had everything we needed. Good selection of hot foods (quiche, sausages, pancakes, omelette to order), fruit, cereal, pastries. We also spent quite some time in the games room and this was probably the highlight of our stay - the room contained a fully stocked pool table, ping pong table, foosball, air hockey and a 90s arcade game machine (which was free to play and contained so many nostalgic games including galaga, mappy, PAC man). Everything worked without issue and without any payment required, which is rare for most arcades. The gym had a great selection of equipment, very clean and nice views. We loved the rooftop bar with views all across Melbourne and they were happy to accommodate us in the evening despite not having a reservation. Great choice of unique cocktails and bar snacks but we wish they offered dessert at the bar too. We ended up ordering dessert via room service another night which was exceptional. Super easy to order and it arrived quickly. Staff were overall wonderful, they were very accomodating, friendly and polite. We were impressed with service from start to finish. Location wise, it was nice being in a quieter semi-industrial area and was about a 10 min walk to the nearest tram stop to the CBD or a $15 uber ride. There is a convenience store on the ground level which was helpful for last min groceries. I would love to stay here again and would recommend to anyone going to Melbourne.
