Sofitel Melbourne on Collins

Although becoming a little tired, Sofitel is no doubt located in the best spot in the CBD and that’s why we stayed here for a second time. On the quieter end of Collins St, it’s seconds from the action but far enough from the mayhem of Bourke St that stepping out of the front door doesn’t feel chaotic. It’s the perfect mix. I also love that it has a great gym, with quality equipment (including Peloton and free weights) and an awesome view from level 35. Pricing similarly to QT, the location and the gym are the 2 reasons the Sofitel is the winner for us, even though the QT is much newer and fresher. I hope the rooms at the Sofitel are given a refresh soon - they’re by no means poor, still very clean and comfortable, they’re just starting to show wear and tear and signs of their age - particularly the bathrooms.

We were upgraded to the room with bay view and high floor as well. Staff there were friendly and helpful . The bed is very comfortable with choice of pillows . Very near to Rod Laver Arena which is about 15 mins walk from hotel , we stayed here for the Katy Perry concert . Will certainly be back again !

We were delighted to be allowed an early check-in, which made our stay even more comfortable. The room was immaculate, with everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable visit. The service was exceptional, and the hotel's central location made it incredibly convenient to explore the city and attend the competition.
