Brookstreet Hotel - Ottawa West - Kanata

We stayed one night on January 2nd as a night away from home. As a young family, it was perfect. A large room four our toddler to run around in and a real crib for the baby, I brought my pack n play but didn't have to use it (I brought the pack n play because we won't use hotel pack n plays but they had a nice crib!) Check in was so fast, probably less than 2 minutes. This is something that we need as a young family, I needed to get into the room to breastfeed and my toddler didn't have to dance around. The main lobby area is large and spacious, fun for the kids. Parking lot is indoor and heated. The room was freshly renovated and very clean. Had great coffee and a mini fridge. Really disliked the feather pillows and the temperature of the room was too hot with the big duvet, we slept poorly due to the heat. Couldn't open the window because we had a baby in the room. We had room service for supper. Burger, chicken tenders, ravioli and creme brulee. So yummy. The pool was amazing, the air was HOT and the pool was warm. Tons of natural light, large windows. My 4 month old swam for over an hour and didn't get cold. My toddler didn't want to leave the pool. There was a hot tub. The kiddie pool was closed, it's only open Friday night and Saturday and Sunday during the day. The pool change rooms had hottubs and saunas. The only thing missing was a family change room. We had to split up while getting our wet swim suits off. They should change the washrooms that are in the hallway by the pool into family washrooms instead of men's or women's. That way we could take our wet swimsuits off there. I'd give the hotel 5 stars, it was such a great stay and only $150 incl. Tax. We were so nervous booking on Agoda but all went smoothly.

This was our first stay at Brookstreet, and we are all very impressed. Pros: Updated, spacious, and clean room. Indoor/outdoor pools/hot tubs and arcade were a huge hit with our kids. Amazing food at both restaurants, and room service was quick and efficient! Complimentary underground parking with our stay Helpful, friendly staff that were always happy to help with directions and recommendations. Perfect location, not far from downtown Ottawa. Tons of add on amenities like golf and the spa Cons: Extra cost for high speed wifi - the wifi was not working out first night as they were switching providers. While the food was amazing, it is also pretty pricey, and serving sizes don’t seem to coincide with the price (small serving sizes) The hotel also welcomes outside members to use the gym and pools so there was swimming lessons happening when we were using the pool, and some “regulars” seemed less than enthusiastic to share the pool. The kiddie pool was closed when we were there! (Limited to weekends) The AC and fridge in the room seemed to go into “power saving mode” during the night- Everything in the fridge would be warm at night and cold during the day? Same with the ac! Overall, this was a very positive experience for our family. The amazing staff make up for any shortcomings and we will definitely be booking a stay again in the future!

I love love this hotel. It’s a nice jazz resto bar. The Staff is so sweet. We were able to go in the pool and than Jacuzzi and hust being able to look at the landscape and our room was so so clean itself so nice to be away from home, I came back super ressourced
