Haka House Wellington

Staff were all friendly and helpful. 2 Large kitchens with everything you could need for cooking. Gave a code for nearby Wilson car parking to get a slightly discounted rate (only until October I think). Toilets/showers were a bit old but were hot and clean. Room with shared bathroom, was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. WiFi was a bit spotty but suspect that was because of the awful weather. Great location close to bars and food. On the whole a great stay and would definitely stay again

The ferry was delayed, and check-in was past 7 PM. When I was troubled because I couldn't get inside, a man entered a passcode into a box near the door and handed me an envelope with my name on it containing the key card. I assumed he was staff and thanked him, but he told me he was a guest who often checks in late, so he had learned how to do it. This exchange is also an important memory from my trip. The kitchen is smaller than at other backpacker hostels, but it has everything I need. There’s a New World supermarket right in front of me, making it the perfect location for a supermarket enthusiast like me. I bought souvenirs, yogurt, and granola for breakfast. The parking was expensive, but I was lucky to find a nearby area that is free at night.

The location was fantastic! The building was well laid out, the kitchens and eating areas were ample and always super clean and well organized. There was nothing I didn’t like.
