Lovely Stay at Bilderberg Garden Hotel
Great hotel, ideally located some 10mins walk from museum area and about 20mins walk into city centre. Trams and bus stop near by.
Staff and service excellent. Restaurant food fabulous and reasonably priced. Good bar/lounge area. Bedroom fine, but bathroom in need of an update - but has everything you need. Would stay again.
Excellent
In the summer, the location is within a residential area along a canal where residents play in the water, creating a lovely atmosphere that makes you forget you are in the city center. Nearby, there are many supermarkets, shops, and restaurants, with the Van Gogh Museum about a 10-minute walk away. The tram stop is about a 5-minute walk, and from there, it takes about 10 minutes to central station. Once you memorize the tram lines and the names of the nearest stops, it's quite convenient to use. By the way, directly across the road is the Hilton Hotel. The hotel itself blends well with the surrounding environment, being low-rise and very tasteful. I didn't use it, but the main restaurant with a terrace looks chic, and based on the menu, the prices seem reasonable (though a main dish is around 4,000 yen, which is not much different from mid-range restaurants in the city). In early September, a standard type of room costing about 30,000 yen in local currency is slightly over 20 square meters and is laid out functionally, with a tasteful interior, allowing for a fairly elegant stay. Considering the absence of facilities like a pool or gym, a 5-star rating on Agoda seems a bit overstated, but you can certainly feel the satisfaction of a solid 4-star experience. The staff is very kind, but their responsiveness could be improved. For travelers to Amsterdam for the second time or more, with a budget of around 30,000 yen for one night, I generally felt it was recommendable.
