Anyone who has visited the Philippines will vouch that Filipinos are among the most hospitable people in the world. Warm smiles, gracious greetings, and genuine kindness are something you encounter almost everywhere across hotels and hospitality establishments. However, my recent experience at Makati Diamond Residences went several steps beyond anything I have experienced—even within the Philippines. I have been visiting the Philippines for over 25 years and have stayed in countless hotels across the country. Yet, this particular experience truly redefined my understanding of Filipino hospitality. One night during my stay, around 1:00 AM, I found myself craving two of my favorite Filipino comfort dishes—Sinigang and Daing na Bangus (milkfish fry). I didn’t want to step out of the hotel and decided to walk into the restaurant, knowing it was just an hour away from closing at 2:00 AM. When I asked the restaurant hostess whether these dishes were available, she did not simply say no or point out that they were not on the menu. Instead, her immediate response was, “Let me speak to the chef.” Within moments, the chef himself came out and asked what I would like. I explained my craving, and he calmly said, “Let me see what I can do.” I was then kindly asked to take a seat. A few minutes later, I noticed the chef and the restaurant manager on the phone, clearly making efforts behind the scenes. Eventually, the manager came to me and explained that they were trying to source one key ingredient required for the Sinigang, which was challenging at that hour since the dish wasn’t on the menu and nearby shops were already closed. I told him it was absolutely fine if the dish was slightly adapted. About 20 minutes later, my meal arrived—and I can honestly say it was one of the most satisfying and delicious midnight meals I have ever had. More than the food itself, I was deeply moved by the effort, care, and sincerity shown by the team. Hats off to the Makati Diamond Residences team—the chef, the restaurant manager, and the entire staff—who made me feel genuinely special that night. I am from India, where we have a timeless saying: “Atithi Devo Bhava”, which means “The guest is God.” It reflects a tradition where guests are treated with the highest respect and their wishes are honored wholeheartedly. That night at Makati Diamond Residences, I truly felt what that saying means. I felt valued, respected, and cared for in a way that is rare to experience. Thank you, Makati Diamond Residences, for setting such an exceptional standard of hospitality. This is an experience I will remember for a very long time.

Very clean and friendly staff None

From the moment we stepped into Makati Diamond Residences, it felt like coming home to elegance, comfort, and world-class hospitality. The lobby alone sets the tone — refined yet warm — and the service? Impeccable. We stayed in one of their modern, well-appointed rooms with a view of Legazpi Street. Everything from the plush bedding to the luxurious bathtub to the in-room kitchenette was thoughtfully designed. Cleanliness was flawless, and daily housekeeping made everything feel fresh and welcoming. What truly sets MDR apart is the service. Every staff member made us feel genuinely cared for. All the staff are well-mannered, always smiling, and consistently go the extra mile with every request — no matter how big or small. The true highlight of our stay was the Club Lounge experience, where we were warmly welcomed and exceptionally taken care of by Aaron, Nic, and Lyn. Their attentiveness, professionalism, and warm hospitality made our stay truly memorable. I personally also want to commend JR of the concierge, who went above and beyond by offering to let me borrow his personal USB-C charger cable when I needed one. That level of kindness and thoughtfulness is something I will never forget. On top of that, we were granted a FREE late check-out until 3:00 PM, which gave us extra time to relax and enjoy the comfort of our room before leaving — a perfect end to an already outstanding stay. 10/10 would stay again. Makati Diamond Residences doesn’t just give you a room — they give you a heartfelt and unforgettable experience. This is now our go-to place whenever we’re in Makati/Manila. We will surely be back!
